Alyssa Formyduval

Alyssa Formyduval, MS, OTR/L, CSRS

 

My name is Alyssa Formyduval and I am an occupational therapist at St. Catherine Hospital in East Chicago IN. I primarily work in the acute care setting, but I have occasionally treated patients in an outpatient setting as well. My area of interest is stroke rehabilitation and I am a  Certified Stroke Rehabilitation Specialist. ​

I recently became the supervisor of the inpatient therapy department and the wound ostomy department. I am utilizing my skills as a practitioner to help me succeed in this new supervisor role. This role allows me to work on projects to reach department goals, network closely with other leaders around the hospital, and create department initiatives to decrease the length of stay for patients, prevent readmissions, and create better outcomes.​

I am currently working towards obtaining my clinical doctorate in occupational therapy. I am studying through Indiana University, which allows for tracks in both leadership and education. Obtaining my doctorate is important to me as it allows me to explore the field of occupational therapy and obtain knowledge that will help me with my future endeavors.
